Abstract:
A stratigraphic and geomorphological study of the Selinunte archaeological site has been carried out, and a lithological map based on geological field data integrated with vertical electric soundings obtained. The aim of this work was to provide a basis for archaeological prospecting. Many useful elements were derived, together with references to previous work, for describing the geological environment of this area, which is considered of great historical and archaeological interest.
